Lake Perris: Pre-Pre Spawn? 8 Bass in Under 3 Feet.

Valentine’s Day on Lake Perris turned into a surprisingly good shallow bite. I wasn’t expecting much in less than 3 feet of water this time of year, but the bass had other plans.

Most of these fish came almost immediately on the drop, which felt like an early pre-pre spawn window opening up. The fish weren’t big, but the consistency was solid — 8 bass landed, all shallow, in a short window.

This wasn’t a perfect day. One catch didn’t record, and like always, there were misses and adjustments along the way. Just honest fishing, paying attention to what the lake was giving me.

If you’re fishing Southern California right now, this might be a clue that some fish are starting to slide shallow earlier than expected.

🎣 Lake: Lake Perris
📅 Date: 02.14.26
📏 Depth: Less than 3 feet
🐟 Fish Landed: 8
