Why YOU Should be Fishing DITCHES on Clarks Hill

The December club tournament on Clarks Hill was a different one. It started off with thick fog, so I settled into a ditch and was able to catch a fair number of bass primarily on a small swim bait bumping along the bottom and casting at fish when they were up on the surface.

I was able to cull a few times cranking and throwing a jig, and ended with just shy of 11 pounds. I finished the year in 2nd for AOY with a total of 128.4 lbs for the year. Overall, I’m happy with the season. A couple bad tournaments really hurt me, and they came during months that I fish well. Learned a lot this year, caught a lot of fish, and had a lot of fun.

Looking forward to 2026 and lots of big things on the horizon!
