Can You Catch Winter Bass on a Glidebait? I Tried Both…
I’ve always wondered if a true glidebait bite is possible in the middle of winter. Cold water, low visibility, slow fish — everything says it shouldn’t work. But I still had to find out for myself.

So I went out with two baits I’ve been wanting to compare for a long time: the York Trout Glidebait and the Baby Bull Shad. I couldn’t pick just one, so I threw both all day to see if either one could trigger a reaction bite in freezing conditions.

Spoiler… it didn’t go the way I hoped. But sometimes that’s the reality of fishing big baits in winter, and the only way to learn is to get out and try.
