During unseasonably cold and frigid weather, we ventured from Pennsylvania to find open water for boat fishing. We headed to Lake Norman in North Carolina to take advantage of water heated artificially by power plants, not knowing if the boat launches would even be open! One was! And the bass fishing was amazing: at least one spotted bass on every drift.

During all three days, we used the same fool-proof jigging method — a tube head jig paired with a Berkley Gulp — for spotted bass, for non-stop fishing action!
