Back on the Water After 3 Months | Kayak Bass Fishing in Mt. Dora
After nearly three months off the water due to a back injury, I finally made it back out for a kayak bass fishing trip in Mt. Dora on a warm, calm, and windless day. With a cold front about to roll in and shut things down for the week, this felt like my last good chance to get out before conditions changed.
I fished a 190-acre pond with a unique, and honestly frustrating, kayak launch that required carrying the kayak by hand, something I probably should have avoided while still healing. I didn’t get on the water until around 9 a.m., which put me a little behind the bite, but I still managed to boat one bass and catch two on camera. It wasn’t a numbers day, but it was a great reminder of why being on the water, even after setbacks, is always worth it. Join me for a laid-back, warm day chasing bass from the kayak.
