It’s been a minute, but I’m back on the water.

Chad and I spend the day fishing El Capitan Reservoir in San Diego County looking for largemouth bass. This is a lake I’ve fished plenty of times with only mild success, so expectations were low going in. The morning bite was solid, and we stuck with the same bait all day – Hookup Baits in 1/8 oz and 1/4 oz watermelon jack.

A big part of the fun was watching fish react in real time on LiveScope and getting those visual bites that never get old. The afternoon bite slowed down and the wind kicked up for a bit, but we stayed with it and still managed a really good day on the water.

Great weather, good bites, and one of those trips that reminds you why you keep coming back.
