Big Bass… and OTTERS?? Wild January on the Chowan
Warm days in winter can change everything — and this January trip on the Chowan River was one of those days. A 72-degree day turned a slow winter pattern into something special. I caught a bunch of bass on a jerkbait, landed one big fish on a Damiki-style rig… and then had a totally unexpected encounter with a family of river otters (6, to be exact).
