Fall KAYAK Bass Fishing Was BETTER Than I Expected (River Fishing)

Fall kayak bass fishing on an Illinois river out of my NuCanoe U10.

Even though we’re in the winter season now, this trip was from early fall, and the largemouth bass bite was better than I expected.

In this video, I’m fishing from my NuCanoe U10 kayak targeting river largemouth bass in Illinois. The main pattern was flipping a black and blue Lil’ Magnum jig, paired with either a Geecrack Spiron Twin or a Yamamoto Cowboy as the trailer.

I didn’t catch any giants, but I landed around 8 solid largemouth bass, all relating to river cover and current. This is a realistic look at early fall river bass fishing and what works when you’re fishing moving water from a kayak in the Midwest.

If you’re into kayak bass fishing, Illinois river fishing, or learning fall bass patterns, this video will give you a solid idea of what to throw and where to flip when conditions line up.

👇 Let me know in the comments which trailer you prefer on a jig — Spiron Twin or Cowboy?
