New lake. New water. No intel.
Day 20 of the Movember Challenge had me an hour from home chasing a lake in Arkansas I’ve only heard legends about. Guys talking about 25–28 lb bags… so of course I had to test my luck.

Except… the first two hours absolutely smoked me.

Tried fishing it like a summer pattern because the water temps were in the mid-70s to nearly 90 degrees (yep… power plant lake things). Jighead minnow, spoon, spinnerbait, jerkbait—nothing consistent. One single fish on a big flutter spoon and a whole lot of confusion.

So I pulled out the OnWater App, hit the Angler Intelligence Chat, and asked the question every angler asks:

“If this lake fishes anything like the others around here… should I just follow the fall pattern and get shallow?”

The answer?
ABSOLUTELY. GO.
