Tournament days don’t always go to plan…
In this Living The Dream team tournament on Lake Norman out of Beatties Ford, Eddie and I are just settling in when the big motor dies about thirty minutes into the day. We’re stuck about two miles from the ramp, trolling-motor only, trying to decide if we should call it or grind it out.
Instead of quitting, we fish our way back – ramps, banks, anything we can touch – and then some schooling fish show up and completely change the vibe. Crankbaits, chaos, and a surprise little flurry that puts 4 keepers in the box and helps us beat about five other boats… all without a working engine and with two and a half hours of fishing time left on the table.
In this video I break down how we adjusted, how we stayed mentally in it, and what I learned from a day where everything went wrong but we still found a way to make something happen.
