Catching and Tagging Big Bass for the Backyard Pond

We go bass fishing on a local river in an attempt to catch to some largemouth bass and transport them to the backyard pond. It’s late in the year and I want to add more bass to the pond in hopes that they will spawn in the spring. I have enough smallmouth bass, but I need more largemouth. The late fall temperatures are a challenge, as the fish have slowed down, but I fight through some northern pike in an attempt to get some bass in the boat.

We tag some surprisingly heavy bass with our pin tagging machine. The fish tagging system allows us to track and monitor our fish in the backyard pond.
