If someone tells you swimbaits never catch bass that’s a LIE!!! In this video we go through a beginner’s guide to swimbait fishing and I catch a huge bass on Lake Guntersville fishing a swimbait in deeper clear water. Swimbaits are the perfect summer fishing lure for offshore bass. My swimbait setup is a 7’2″ MH fishing rod or big swimbaits on a 7’6″ MHH rod – both on 15lbs fishing line. I use anywhere from a 1/2oz to 1oz GOAT jig for deeper water and try to maintain some bottom contact during the whole retrieve.
