Bass Fishing NEW Iowa waters: Des Moines River Maiden Voyage

The Des Moines river has always been on my list of places to try and in this video I finally ripped the band aid off and gave it a go. I launched out of Birdland Marina and found this stretch of the Des Moines River to be easy to navigate. I went south to the dam downtown for some sweet views and was able to navigate a few miles north of Birdland with relative ease and where I focused my fishing efforts. The fishing was mediocre, but the experience was invaluable. I look forward to expanding on the Des Moines and venture into new areas hunting those big river smallmouth.
