Here, he breaks down three must-have baits for catching bass in the Palmetto State. No matter where Patrick goes, and this applies even to lakes outside of South Carolina, not much can beat a jig. Whether you swim it through heavy cover, casting or skipping under docks and trees, or dragging on points, a jig can be fished effectively on any lake in South Carolina. With 20lb Sufix Advance fluorocarbon on a 7’1″ Heavy Daiwa Tatula Elite casting rod with an 8.1:1 Daiwa Tatula Elite Pitch and Flip, you’ve got everything you need for jig fishing bass in South Carolina. Next comes the trusty wacky rig, which catches fish anytime of the year on any lake you fish.
