FAST Current, SKETCHY Ramp & BASS Fishing in the Trees | Carolina Skiff Mission!

We took the little J14 Carolina Skiff way up a remote stretch of river to chase some bass—but things didn’t go quite as planned.

The adventure started with a sketchy boat ramp where I had to back the truck deep into the river just to float the skiff. The water level was way higher than expected, and the current was ripping—making it almost impossible to fish upstream. My trolling motor just couldn’t handle it, so we were stuck fishing with the current, getting pushed into trees, brush, and all kinds of chaos.

We still managed to hook into a few bass, but it wasn’t easy. Close calls, strong current, and sketchy conditions forced us to cut the trip short. Still, it made for one wild day on the river!
