Best Big Fish Trip of Year and STUPIDEST Way to Lose $100 on the Water

2025 has seen a mostly good fluke ocean season. After a few off days with the new moon, Billy, Mike, Dwight and Chris joined me on July 23 for a charter on the ocean side of Montauk and we were rewarded with the best big fish of 2025 to date.

Notwithstanding this good fishing, the thing I’ll probably remember most from this trip is Rick trying to pass me $100 on the water via a net with a hole in it (he owed me $85) and the absolute calamity that ensued.
