After the devastation left behind by Hurricane Helene in September 2024, Lake James in North Carolina was nearly unrecognizable. Trees were uprooted, docks were destroyed, and debris from damaged homes filled the water — making boating and fishing nearly impossible. But thanks to the hard work of local crews and volunteers, the lake has finally been cleaned up and made safe again for anglers and boaters alike.

In this video, we return to Lake James for the first time since the storm to see how the lake has recovered — and to find out if the bass bite is still on! Join us as we navigate the rejuvenated waters, cast for some largemouth and smallmouth, and reflect on the incredible effort it took to bring this beloved fishing spot back to life.
