Why a Frog Excels in Postspawn Conditions
Frog fishing isn’t just for early mornings. In fact, Lawyer explains how the bite often improves as the day progresses. With minimal wind and high skies, shade pockets become key. Bass position according to shade lines near bushes and willow trees, waiting for an easy meal. The frog provokes intense reaction strikes—especially when fry are near the surface.

Popping Frogs Vs. Walking Frogs
Lawyer relies on a popping frog over a walking-style frog for one key reason—control in tight cover. In shallow, shaded zones, bass may only have a foot or two to commit. A popping frog stays in place, chugs water, and makes enough noise to pull fish from cover fast. When every inch counts, popping gets the nod.

Mapping to Repeat the Pattern
To find consistent bite zones, Lawyer uses his mapping to identify key shoreline features. Small indentations, drains, and shade breaks consistently hold fish. After catching bass in two similar spots, he builds a repeatable pattern and targets identical structure throughout the lake. Lawyer explains how to use contour shading and shoreline detail to find the same structure in different parts of the lake, letting you repeat the bite all day.
