Texas Rig Video
https://youtu.be/O83YIYmc3Ds
Went out to the Edendale Quarry to catch myself some bass. This was another test for me to see if the famous quarry is a good or a bad bass fishing location in Johannesburg.
In this episode I decided to take one rod and one reel with me. This was a Texas rig set up. The famous Texas rig is an essential key to catching more bass in south Africa and all over the world where you can catch bass. This was a challenge for me to leave the finesse gear at home and over come my love hate relationship with the Texas rig.
The Texas rig is a versatile rig which can be fished in many ways and this is exactly why I need to get good at it. The Edendale quarry has a rocky bottom throughout the whole dam to it seems the Texas rig would really shine in this dam…….Was I wrong?
The bass that I did catch where small and they where both caught on a googan baits crackin craw in the 3 inch size, Junebug.
This dam has always been good to me in the past and I can’t be mad at it for not producing fish. I think the fish in the edenvale quarry have seen all the lures that are possibly available in the bass fishing industry and we as bass anglers that fish the quarry just need to fish harder to get those bass to bite. All in all it is always to come out fishing and not work.
The quarry is a different place on kickboat. Best bait there for me is a wacky rig watermelon red and purple flake senko. If you like company just shout
How much is the costs to fish there?
Hi Sascha can I ask where did you get your bag?
Live bate is my favorite Bru.
Plattie and a kayak 🎣🛶
Can someone advise the pin drop on the quarry
Sup Sasha, nice vid. Quarry is tough but there are fatties there.. I have landed a couple of 2kg an best was a 3.1kg. My suggestion if you can get in the water might help and use small creature baits. Missing SA.
Hii where did you get your tackle bag from it's quite cool ?
Great vid Sascha! What backpack is that you using?
Thanks dude for the video. Always helpful. 💪👌
I just want to ask some advice on what gear ratio do you use for what rig? From crank baits to plastics I'm abit lost on what to get.
Thanks man, loving the videos🤙
Try a stretch 40 on a Texas rig, but don't peg the weight.
Lekker video
Edenvale quarry is tough yes, there's some real big fish in there but they're very pressured, they're very used to many of the rigs and lures we throwing so it helps to change it up a bit and fish extremely slow, I've had the most success there with a shaky head with a small craw or worm. Also, even tho it's pressured, not many people throw jigs and spinnerbaits for these fish, so those do well as well
Bass man over there catching em all like Pokémon over there recently while I was bass fishing i caught a mega trout on some new bait i tried from Berkley here where I live there just smallmouth, stripers and perch so it helps watching this!!
Verdict?
While im here trying to master my baitcaster, u just get Sacha rocking it with one hand
I fished there this Sunday , I caught 5 in total with an average of 1.2kg … it’s much better on the water …
RIP Tony 🙏🙏🙏
So is the quarry open…..
I enjoy videos like these. Testing out rigs
I am still surprised that you havent been to ebotsi yet.
Dude try that little mud pond behind the dog kennels. I caught 2 nice ones there on ned rig last week. I work right there by komatsu, go there often. Never caught in the quary😄
Really enjoying it thanks all the way from Namibia.
Great vid the Texas rig can be deadly in the right situation
Nice video keep it up

Go fish bass lake, the place is on fire with nedrig and drop shot, caught +- 35 fish yesterday
