Bass Fishing & Breezy Camping at Bear Creek Farm | Cirrus 620 + Blackbeard’s Delight Coffee
Join me for a relaxing weekend of truck camping at Bear Creek Farm and Ranch near Palmer, Illinois, just a stone’s throw from Taylorville. We set up at the Ponds Edge Site 2, right by a 3-acre pond, and soaked in the perfect weather—70°F highs and 59°F lows at night.
The trip was all about unwinding and living the good life in my Cirrus 620 truck camper, pulled by my trusty F350. I caught several bass and a hefty bluegill using my go-to white rooster tail lure—it never fails! Breakfast was simple and delicious: pork chops and eggs, paired with Black Rifle Coffee Company’s Blackbeard’s Delight dark roast, enjoyed right by the water.
We powered the whole trip with my Jackery 2000+ and expansion pack, topped up by a 400W Renogy collapsible solar panel—more power than we could even use!
The campground hostess was incredible, meeting us on her four-wheeler and having firewood ready when we pulled in. Los Ranchos Mexican restaurant in nearby Taylorville was the perfect stop for some amazing tacos, too.
Relax, cast a line, and enjoy this camping adventure—don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more off-grid fun and camping tips!
