BFS Fishing an Ultralight Topwater Lure for BIG Bass! #bfs #bassfishing #bass
In this video, I take y’all out to a local pond/lake to catch big bass on a tiny ultralight topwater lure using my BFS gear! I’ve thoroughly enjoyed BFS fishing and encourage y’all to try it. I can throw ultralight lures on this baitcasting gear and cast further than most folks can with spinning gear. The little lure I am using in this video is linked below if you’re curious about it. It straight up catches fish of all sizes. Enjoy the video and make sure to subscribe!
Catching bass on an ultralight topwater lure using bait finesse system (BFS) gear requires precision and technique. Start by selecting a light spinning or baitcasting rod specifically designed for BFS, matched with a lightweight reel that offers smooth drag. Use a 6-8 lb fluorocarbon or monofilament line for better sensitivity and stealth.
Choose a topwater lure that mimics local baitfish or insects, like poppers or walking baits. Cast the lure towards likely bass-holding areas such as weeds, submerged structures, or around points. Retrieve the lure using a steady and rhythmic motion, incorporating occasional pauses or twitches to provoke bites.
Morning or evening, when bass are more active, is often the best time. Pay attention to subtle surface disturbances or follow-ups, indicating a bass has struck. When a bass bites, wait just a moment before setting the hook to ensure they have taken the bait fully. Use rapid yet controlled reeling to bring in the fish, leveraging the BFS gear’s sensitivity for an exciting catch.
