Catching Big Bass In Small Ponds In Limpopo South Africa
Small ponds are known to hold some really big bass. It’s important to understand what lures to use to catch these big bass in these small ponds.
Day 2 of my Limpopo adventures has brought me out to catch some more bass. The day started early for me using a hollow body frog, making long cast across the dam trying to get that early morning top water bite. Morning is always a good time to get those bass to bite a frog due to the low visibility the morning has. This was my mission from day 1 and I got a really good fish on the hollow body frog.
As the day progressed the sun came out and the heat pushed all the bass into the grassy banks of this pond. I moved to the section of the dam were I could target the grassy area of the pond. To catch bass I used a Stick bait. The stick bait has a really good presentation in the water and this attracts fish from a distance. I did catch a really good fish on Berkley General in 6 inches.
Nicola and I did some exploring on the far and we came accross the big dam that was situated on the farm. As I didn’t know I wasn’t going to be doing any fishing I never took my camera gear with. I decided I would fish. The paddle board that was supplied was perfect to target the bass. This lead me to catching a really a decent bass on a 5 inch the general. this was a really good achievement since fishing from a paddle board isn’t the easiest thing to do.
