Dropshot and bobber fishing from the Pelican Bass Raider @ Old City Lake in West Frankfort, Illinois

HillGilly Fishin’ takes on a new lake in Southern Illinois! We gave the ‘ Old City Lake’ in West Frankfort Illinois a try and had huge numbers as a result. The Pelican Bass Raider proved to be the perfect size boat for this size lake getting back in the shallower waters that the bigger boats couldn’t. Our 55lb thrust Minnkota trolling motor moved us around the lake at ease.. even with a little breeze! We caught a ton of fish including bluegill, largemouth bass, crappie, catfish, redear and even one yellow bass. We managed to pull a few big ones out of the lake.. but go figure, neither our GoPro Hero 11 nor our Hero 5 was recording when that happened because we were trying to manage our battery life! Our LiTime Lithium Battery held up all day crossing the lake several times while running our downscan/sidescan imaging and at the end of the day.. still shows a full charge.
