I caught my first pike on a chatter bait I love using them because they’re fun to use
Fact, there is no wrong way to fish a chatterbait, unless its dry.
Seem that all the pro's are (for the most part) letting this sink. I'm sure if the fish are aggressive enough, a steady retrieve us enough. My problem is in the state of Florida where the water is shallow and full of vegetation, how do you fish this without pulling half the lake back to the boat? Especially, if using a trailer hook.

My biggest bass was from a mini chatterbait with a mini grub on it.. ripping it hard and erratic then letting it fall and repeat

90% of anglers fish a bobber and minnow wrong! You really need to do it with a Bud Light and a rainbow hat on!
The smallmouth in my river never touch a chatter bait and I fish a jig I catch tons on a jig

Chatterbaits scare the fish away here in lower Michigan
What is the speed of your reel? Also, what line are you using? if you are using mono, the stretch will not give you the "pops" that you want.

Hey Matt, I want to thank you for a tip you gave and stripping off the skirt on a Chatterbait and putting on a vertical creature to give it more of a bluegill or baitfish type look, really works👍
I seem to get way more bites around lily pads when there's wind versus when it's calm. In grassy flats, and by overhanging trees or other cover along the bank less wind seems to work better. Just from my experiences anyway.
