I had a window of clear weather and blasted out of Ventura Harbor for some inshore fishing. The 250 Mercury pushes the Cobia at a smooth 32 mph cruising speed with plenty more on the top. I burned 6 gallons for my first Calico Bass of 2025. I jigged up a couple topsmelts and fly lined them, hoping for something big. The sea was calm, with beautiful views of Anacapa and Santa Cruz Islands in the distance.
