"Tex Post" is a good way to make the plastic weedless. Have to make it as weedless as possible to get it through the cabbage.

Another way to put weight on the worm is to cut a 6-8 inch section of line and make a simple loop out of it. How big of a loop is up to you. Place an appropriate amount of split shots on the knot side of the loop.
Rig the work onto the hook. Take the loop with weights and wrap it on the exposed section of the hook.
love how some these rigs have weird names like wacky rig as was fishing live worms like that 40 year ago and others i know been doing live worms like that more than 60 years for eels, same with texas rig it way we used and still fish dead baits for pike or at sea fishing, i seen the wacky rig one done with 2 rings in a x shape it supposed to last better than single, oh nice video
