  1. I've been using a baitcaster for 3 years now. It's still good to expand the knowledge and remind yourselves of the basics. We are all her for the same thing, catch fish.

  2. Hey Tyler, bought my first baitcaster, watched 2 of your videos on setup and casting. Took it out for about an hour and did not backlash once. I have the sidearm and roll cast down but I need some work on the overhand cast. Thanks for your help.

  3. Huge fan! I’m 22 from PA, new to bass fishing with a 17’ Bass Tracker. I naturally prefer left-hand baitcasters, am I doing it wrong? I want to become the best angler I can be. Have you fished in PA? Do you lean towards black/blue or green pumpkin there? What’s the best way to reach you with questions, and do you offer paid advice?

  4. Stupid question of the day. How important is the quality of baitcast reel in the scheme of things? Basically speaking, is there a noticeable difference between a $70 piscifun reel and a $170 Lews or Garcia?

  5. I throw weightless senkos and soft plastic jerkbaits on my (non bfs) baitcasters and you can't stop me 😜 I just don't like spinning reels. Probably because I've never had a good one, but still…

  6. Your videos are always so informative. This wasn't a video for me (about a decade into bait caster usage) but when I was first learning I found most of your points to be super accurate. Any time I switch lures I check the lures fall rate. Same spool of braid 1 year later. Few backlashes and when I get them they are easily fixed.

  7. Good advice but a significant amount of work. I would go for line conditioner. Use it when you start to spool your reel. Then do a few long casts with like a 1/2 oz wieght, and as you reel in, pinch the line as you crank back. It will create tension and strech your line.
