  1. Thank you for the tips. I recently found a body of water near my house I didn’t know was there and assumed it had bass at least and I accidentally caught multiple pike on a Texas rig sanko and a Ned rig. I’m going to go back tomorrow with some of these and see if I can catch a giant

  2. My most consistent lures for pike are these dollorama 5 inch baby pike lures (they look like a baby pike) spoons and inline spinners, including my home made modified inlines but instead of a feathered treble hook, you attach a small minnow jig head and a curly tail or boot tail. I have had small pike fight over those.

  3. chatterbait. i'm just getting back into fishing and i recall as a kid my best days fishing were catching northern on spinnerbaits and topwater buzz baits. i'm just getting back into it and last night i was killing it on a 3/8 oz chatterbait with a small swimbait trailer and caught 3 personal best size largemouth.

  4. Biggest pike I ever caught was on a big spinner bait with a fat head minnow and I also sprayed it attraction spray lol it was in lake James 39" and like over 20 pounds also caught several 25" in the same day also a couple bass all on same lure lol

  5. Pike will hit darn near any type of lure that you throw at it. I grew up in upstate NY fishing for them and speak from experience. Top 5 blah, throw the cheapest lure at them because they're going to destroy it physically after time. The mepps black fury and comets have always produced for me. I saw some fools throw custom swim baits, glides, and depps and chuckled knowing those lures are trashed after a few fish.

  6. Great video man! I have to agree with your top choice, I just caught 2 pike yesterday on a fire tiger pattern Rapala Husky Jerk bait. At least it looked like that one, mine has 3 treble hooks and it suspends but slowly floats if I leave it sit for awhile. Like you said, perfect for cruising the tops of weed beds and not getting hung up. I got some 8" bull dawgs to try this year, I haven't been able to fish them much yet. Hoping they produce a monster! God bless you, tight lines!

  7. Hit the nail on the head with the spoons. The husky jerk doesn’t screw around.. if you’ve never fished and are preparing to go.. do NOT throw a husky jerk on straight out. Catch those Sunny’s and small bass first else you meet the lockness of the Midwest

  8. I have every color and most sizes of daredevils and the funniest thing is I was using a big red and was just getting hits and then I changed to a small version of it and I caught 3 nice pike

  9. I've caught a lot of Pike on lures, here in England. Favourites are spoons around the 1oz. weight mark ( Daredevle-style), 1oz. bucktails, 6 inch Swim-Whizz cranks, and Smity Slaptail surface baits.

  10. Best bait for any pike is a SMALL SPINNING LURE WITH A ……HUGE…..PLASTIC WORM…….i guide walleye adventures in Northern MN…..but hunt musky in my free time……lol another poser looking for likes……dont even try tossing any lure with fully exsposed hooks into thick weeds in shallow water…..Northern Pike are extremely easy to catch…..can almost be annoying when going after musky…..especially in spring……30 to 40 pike in 4 hrs in the early am or late evening not uncommon……i use literally one lure and just switch up colors…..or use live bait…….i can stick my dick in the water in early spring on right day and pull a pike out lol….

  11. Let's not kid ourselves, these bad boys will go after juuust about any natural looking bait/prey. Seen top water mice and frogs land some monsters, and I got one on the .50¢ rooster tail lol. Luck plays a part. But study your body of water n anything natural to the area is on the menu.

  12. It's so funny, the biggest one I ever caught was on a tiny crappie jig! I've thrown and had success with bigger baits (spoons, rapalas, top water baits) but these predators tend to break the whole bigger baits means bigger fish. They'll eat anything lol n that day my lunker I got was after a lil appetizer not interested in the big meal.

  13. If youre still active how do you feel about little cleo spoons mine I got is half bright light blue and half glow in the dark. Id appreciate you're opinion. I'm great with trout but this summe I'm going for pike and bass and it's new territory but i have some knowledge. I picked up a panther sonic wpinner and a few different colored mepps aglias in various sizes and also got a few feog lures of various sizes amd kinds, one spnner frog that makes it look like it swims and splashes, one super realistic one, one big realisistic popping frog, and one small popping frog. Mostly just want opinjons on the color choice ofnmy cleo and chances of cafching bass or pike woth the aglias or cleos. Thank you in advance if you get to me 🙏

  14. All great lures. I've been switching out all my treble hooks for doubles on my lures. They're easier to remove, faster to remove, and less damaging to the fish. And I've noticed no reduction in the number of fish I catch.

  15. …not trying to catch pike here in mid-MI but in last 2 yrs I've caught 3. one was a 11" baby. All 3 were caught on a 10" black and blue w/a chartreuse tip plastic worm.

  16. Eppinger Red & White Dardevle 1.5 oz nickel is my "stranded on a desert island" lure. I've caught just about every freshwater species on it: largemouth, walleye, Northerns, and even perch! Make sure you use the real Eppingers and not cheap imitations — they don't have the same action. They can be cast, trolled, and even jigged.
