I know about checking the fishes throat to see if there's clues to what they're feeding on. I do believe that when they're focused on a certain forage it can be difficult to get them to hit anything else. The old match the hatch. However, I have caught bass on a frog, and upon looking in their throat I discover a crawfish. It's happened more than once. So, it seems that sometimes they will eat anything.
Wow that 2 for 1 was amazing, those were huge bass to be doubled up like that.

Was is current moving and wind blowing with the current or wind against the current making more eddies or no current when it is normally current and wind blowing in a certain direction making current?
I never caught a fish on a med rig. And hang up all the time with them.
Split shot rig is also very under utilized and a grub on a jig head also rooster tails and beetle spins. They can all catch loads of fish and I’ve caught 5+# fish on them all.
Another thing that is way under used is midlines. Fish on the mudlines. Positions yourself on the muddy side and cast to the clearer side.

The deep dive app is definitely the best app for bass fishing. The only problem is, all the good features are paid. The recent satellite is paid, the water clarity is paid, and the lure feature is paid.
I contest your ‘miss percentage of 30% constitutes a non-dialed-in angler’ assertion. Rectàl, Schneider et al places “dialed in” at 80-90% landed fish index (LFI). 70% LFI would be more in line with “on it” or “Alloverdat” category.

Next time you're in Virginia come to lake Anna! They actually have a special warm side of the lake that's warmed by the cooling of nuclear rods from the power plant. You have to have federal background check run and have to know somebody at the plant but if you're interested give me a shout you would not believe the monsters that are living at the bottom of that warm lake
I think the Deep Dive app is great if you hit several lakes. I used it early on, but now I just fish a couple of lakes.

One of the best tools I have used is depth shading on my graph. I set my graph to the depth that shows me where to find fish by depth in green. and I call it riding the green highway. I just keep my boat in the green. It also shows me off shore bumps I may not have know about without it.
