  1. All of this may be a blessing in disguise. There are quit a few trails that pay 10-15k to win and entry fees are one a couple hundred each. These tournaments are less demanding and probably closer to home.

  2. I have always been a big fan, Good Luck in 2024 !!! I am happy that you are jumping off that sinking ship at the BPT. I hope alot of others also bail out and follow suit.

  3. Hey Randall: My takeaways (from an outsider looking in) what you said in this video: 1st: MLF has always wanted to become the best bass fishing tour out there but lately it looks like they’ve been wishy washy in how to do that or get there. 2nd: it seems like a social media presence and promoting sponsors has become almost if not more important than tournament results. 3rd: I know angles know what they’re getting into when they sign up to fish professionally but with all the travel/time away from home expenses and the tournament seen becoming way more (in my opinion) sponsor/social media driven that angler/actually fishing driven has made it tough to be out there. PS anglers love to fish but at the top level there’s a lot to think about. Just my $0.02 worth and good luck in 2024…🎣🤔😎🐝

  4. The MLF side has always been more about who you are and what click your in than tournament bass fishing. You look at the BPT list and whos in it, sorry but its ridiculous. Gerald Spohrer over Randall Tharp? Really? The state of tournament bass fishing is not good with the domination of FFS. Having a strong foundation of skills that took years to learn is not required anymore. All you have to be able to do now is spin circles with your trolling motor chasing pulsating blips on your screen… Its sad. Keep your head up Randall youve done amazing things for the sport and the real way of bass fishing!

  5. Thank you for saying all this. I believe many bpt anglers feel this exact same way. I agree with everything you said about the rules and lack of professionalism. Good luck to you in the opens. I believe you will be happier and most other anglers would too if they followed suit with what your doing.

  6. I think it's GREAT that you're going back to B.A.S.S.! I love how you fish and hope you're successful in making it back to the Elites. Hope you're able to put a hurt on 'em fishing shallow.

  7. Great news !!!
I've been a fan of yours since I saw how You kept your head on your shoulders with Herren . . . there's plenty of dudes out there who would've had a come-apart over that, but from what I saw & heard, both of You kept it together. Solid. 👍
Best of luck in 2024 ! I'll be pulling for You !!!!
