What a day! Managed to get up to the Mississippi River and catch some beautiful, big smallmouth bass.

The rig we were using was just your ordinary drop shot rig with a size 2 octopus hook tied to a 1/4 oz weight. All you do is cast it up stream, let it drift down, and wait for your rod to start bending.

Always a blast experiencing such an amazing fishery. Be sure to keep the fish out of the water for as minimal of a time as possible, especially in the cold. These fish get a lot of pressure so handling them with care it critical in maintaining this special fishery.
