Putting shiny bait fish shapes on the bottom of your boat absolutely attracts fish in the saltwater. You're welcome.
That’s not research at all, can’t be proven or replicated
I thought my light grey hull was an advantage. I just don't care white hulls for some reason. I think Doug Hannon was big into camo and stealth.
My cousin had a white one and my dad had a brown one and let me just say my cousin would smoke my dad and I , fishing side by side in the same spot but on different banks
I painted mine brown over 20 years ago. Also, painted some limbs and knot holes for realism like a log. When you pull up to the bank, the fish get under it, I guess they think its a log.
sounds like a lot of speculation honestly…where's a legitimate study on this that's not just based on memory and hearsay?
It makes perfect sense. Ive often thought a very light grey, or even light blue would be the best. Look like the sky, or a cloud. Best boat color Ive had was an Xpress x19 painted in a dull silver.I even took all the logo's off the side. Im convinced it makes a big difference. I fish Center Hill and Dale Hollow a lot. It makes a huge difference here in Tennessee.
I think I've spooked bass on the banks just walking the banks. Bass can hear and feel your trolling motor too.
What an interesting topic. Thanks for this, Randy. Good info.
I fish structure in clear lakes. A favorite trick of mine is to position my boat close to one side of a hump or point and cast across to the opposite side. I am using the underwater terrain to hide behind. I know that you don’t approve of spotlighting, but when used in this situation the percentage of fish that strike goes up dramatically. Yes you can see fish that are “just under the horizon”
I prefer white because it's cooler in the sun…
Doug Hannon was the man
Just bought a black bottom boat😅
I have an aluminum bass boat, that dull grey metallic hull blends in well; especially when its windy or cloudy. Yeah, I think bass are quite aware of the environment around them including boats.
