I've probably put in a few hundred hours with a swim jig this Summer and, I tend to favor a 3/8 ounce jig as it fits my Medium powered rod. Most of my bites come when I let it sink and then hop or, stroke it off of the bottom. This tends to lead to a few lost fish due to them taking it on the fall. They are often hooked in the side of the mouth and sometimes they're able to flip out of the water and spit the hook. At any rate, fishing a jig, mostly a swim type, is my favorite technique. BTW, I am casting my jig out some 50-75 yards and doing this, not pitching and flipping from a boat. I'm limited to the bank unfortunately. I really enjoyed this video and topic!
