My Profile:
http://www.mattstefanfishing.com/

I was born and raised in Chicago, but after working 12 years in the financial Industry regulating the futures and options markets at the CME/CBOT I decided to pursue my passion fishing professional tournaments and left my full time corporate job. At that point, I moved to Junction City, WI with my wife Sara and two boys Hank and Duke. I’ve been fishing professionally since 2011 and full-time since 2015. I’ve qualified for ten MLF Championships and won almost a million dollars in tournament winnings at the professional level.

  1. Great Video Matt! I agree it has so many advantages and benefits. My go to swimbait head. I don’t have to twitch my rod to get that rolling action. I seen your comment regarding exploring other options for the tush. The finesse tush was a game change on an already game changer. The tube on it is nice. Can’t wait to see more innovation from core tackle in the future!

  2. Love the video as always! Out here in northern CA, fishing a lot of spotted bass lakes, it seems like we use a lot of similar baits that you use and like.

1 thing I struggle with is what size hook for a given size bait and it seems hard to find reliable information. I hate wasting money realizing I bought the wrong size hook for a bait. Especially swimbaits when your using everything from a 2.8 keitech to a 8 inch hollow body. Any suggestions?? I think having it in your description of suggested hook for certain size baits would be very helpful.

    Thanks again

  3. 1st point is good. Still get that with a good jighead. Just understand keel. Horizontal fall is best on straight tails. In paddletails, you actually want that headdown drop. Not liking that Core Tackle is too light. As far as not losing fish, good jighead with good hooks will do the job such as Trokar.

  4. This Spring I will definitely be using the TUSH more. Last year I didn't have many and I was worried about losing them so I ordered a bunch more.
Did you see the video Capt CA from Flats Class TV did talking about the TUSH? Hopefully that'll help them catch on in the saltwater.

  5. The swim bait and hook look like perfection!! Is there any way to mention the actual swim bait in this video also? It’s too good looking not to mention it. Thanks👍🏻👍🏻

  6. Here’s my idea. Core tackle finesse jig, 1/2 oz head, light wire 2/0, 60 degree line tie, light weed guard, fine silicone skirt built for Berkley lil super trooper trailer. Built for deep weed edges in clear water. The gliding after popping out of weeds would be amazing

  7. Impressive, well said, well done – I have used the Hover Rig more often than the TUSH, yet once the lakes are ice free again (hopefully mid-April !) I will try the TUSH in a few more applications — you guys have designed some excellent terminal tackle !

  8. Believe people have forgotten if you take a hollow body swimbait turn it sideways, rigged with belly weight hook,it will shimmy n shake really good, boot tail works much better and you can fish it way more slowly, with added benefit of less plastic in belly of hook when you set the hook

  9. Plus using the TUSH you can modify the swimbait nose to get different actions in the water. Take a razor blade and cut different shapes in the nose like Round, Flat, V-shape etc…

  10. Started using your tush hook since it came out and love it. Wis river fishing works great except for lay downs, no weed guard. Can core offer a weedless tush using the same wire guard as on the core swim jig. With that offering the same great tush hook will be a great bait for lay downs and grass fishing thus a more versatile bait. The wire guard works well on the core swim jig for lay downs and grass. I actually use all of core tackle hooks
