10 Bass Fishing Lures for Post Spawn – Tackle Tuesday

These are the lures that I will have tied on after the bass are finished spawning. Post spawn is when the baitfish start to spawn and the bass start to feed. Topwater rules as does many other lures.

  1. Poppers worked for me when largemouth were on beds in the furthest part of the inlet away from the main lake in pre spawn may and June but now I'm not having any luck . Way to many weeds for crankbaits or spinner baits . I tried fake worms and fake cray fish but can't get a bite . I'm trying to watch these videos to learn more about strategy and locations

  2. dang I hate I missed sign ups for the fishing trip but Im subscribed now and hopefully wont miss the next one!! I live in north west metro atlanta and fish allatoona a lot and am glad to finally have found a channel that's close to home and relevant to the bodies of water I have access to! I see a lot of videos for the west coast and up north but its great to have found one so close so I know when you start talking post spawn im starting to actually fish post spawn! im always trying to learn new tactics and try new baits and I really enjoy watching your videos and the way you teach! thanks for all the info and I look forward to watching more of your videos in the future!! tight lines!

  3. Hey Gene, unlike most of your viewers (I’m guessing) I’m out here in SoCal and will be spending May on the Colorado River just 3 miles below Parker Dam. Was just out there and did well fishing SM bass during spawning. What should I expect in a hot May? Ever fish out west? Great fishing great weather.

  4. So Gene I’m not really sure which phase my bass are in? We saw some on bed early this month and I found some massive cruisers, which makes me think prespawn but I haven’t seen any real bedfish in a while. The shad spawn seems to be a while off, do we still throw those shad styled baits as the bass will be in that shad heavy mode already?

  5. I’ve been having a ton of success on a frog this time of year. Caught 7 in an hour and a half. Had probably 15 blowups but the hook up ratio was poor because I hadn’t bent out my hooks.

  6. I’m so sick of not catching anything I’ve been fishing places where people have suggested, using lures suggested by professionals, and being patient, fishing as much as the entire day from morning to dusk… what am I doing wrong?

  7. I like to throw that 6th sense movement 80x fishing around and ripping through cop tail. They absolutely smash that bait in a bluegill color all year for me in OK but especially around the spawn

  8. I would love to win. I moved to Florida about a year and a half ago and never really fished, maybe for catfish a time or five but I fell in love with it down here I’ve been watching Voss about bass fishing and stuck my 7 lb pb in early March. I’m hooked man!

  9. Love Tackle Tuesday, look forward to it each week. Could you do a video on the baby bull shad, I haven't found a really good one and would love your input. Keep the great content coming!

  10. If the water clarity isn't clear do you still use all those "clear" translucent baits" I got water clarity around 10-12" vis where I fish, so I tend to lean towards more opaque colors like solid white or bone

  11. Good video, I fished lake Oconee back in 2014 while going through my prostate cancer treatment near Atlanta. Met an old man at Bass Pro and he took me several times. Great Lake. Would love to fish again. Love the videos.

  12. I was just in Georgia last week ..did some fishing around Douglasville and pine mountain..but everything was closing down because of cov-19. My brother claims he meet you several years ago . He lives in covington ga.

  13. Hey man love the channel btw ive been watching you for a long time now and have learned so much!
