I'm a huge believer in bite windows. I've seen it too many times. I'm not a tournament angler.
Good advice. I have to give kudos to those who can fish all day. 4-6 hours and I’m done.
When i fished the bass pro tour, we used a jon boat with a sears trolling motor with a good used battery. Couldn't get any sponsors.
I just fish and have an unlimited fishing plan. The plan to win is time on the water ever day of the year. Learning to listen to proven winners, try new methods and learn how to use all lures in all conditions. Never quit.

My approach to a tournament is to make a plan before hand and follow that plan all day long that way it's harder to make bad decisions. If I know there is a decent number of fish in a spot I'll sit there all day and cycle through baits until I find a pattern and catch 5 keepers. There are always fish biting on some part of the lake it's just a matter of finding them.
Rick's advice should always been listened to!

I really liked this video!! It was really helpful. I tend to fish 3-4 hours at a time and I seriously struggle if I don’t catch fish in my spots within the first hour. This was good to hear. I will start breaking my time into hour segments.

Awesome advice! I fished a tournament with only 1 keeper and a hour left to go. Positive thoughts and kept my head down and ended up catching 4 more to get my limit and win the tournament. With also having a 7lber being the last fish I caught in the tournament!

Few years ago Rick did a seminar in Little Rock bass pro shop. I talked to him at length about spinnerbaits. What impressed me was his willingness to talk to a complete stranger and also he would also listen to what I had to say. His seminar was about the changing of his strategy, having to include what Jony has talked about at length on this channel, using your electronics.
Appreciate this. That’s exactly what happened to me yesterday. Talking to guys who did well they caught the majority of their fish after I had mentally given up.
If I dont catch 5 fish in the first cast with umbrella rig the only thing I won was the blast off….lol
