이번에는 배스가 있다는 정보만 듣고 충남 공주에 위치한 계곡형 저수지로 탐색 출조를 다녀왔습니다. 상류부터 하류까지 전 구간을 샅샅이 탐색해 봤습니다.

계곡형답게 물이 너무 맑아서 하루 종일 눈맛을 보는 ‘사이트 피싱’을 즐길 수 있었는데요. 상류 새물 유입구에서 빅브렐라 미니 + 지그헤드 조합으로 기분 좋게 첫 수를 올리며 시작했습니다.

다만 물이 맑은 만큼 배스들이 아주 예민했습니다. 작은 소리에도 민감하게 반응하고, 특히 물속에서 합사라인을 보고 피하는 장면이 많이 목격되었습니다. 필드가 예민할 때는 합사보다 확실히 투명한 카본라인이 효과적이라는 걸 실전에서 다시 한번 확인했습니다.

하류로 갈수록 사이즈가 좋아져 35cm급 배스까지 눈으로 보며 짜릿한 손맛을 볼 수 있었고, 연안의 치어들과 늦산란 배스들의 생태까지 확인할 수 있었던 즐거운 하루였습니다.

Hi everyone! Welcome back to [KEYMAN LURE].

Today, I headed out to a beautiful canyon-style reservoir in Gongju, South Korea, with just one piece of info: “There are bass here.” I explored the entire lake from upstream to downstream.

Thanks to the crystal-clear water, I was able to enjoy sight fishing all day long! As soon as I hit the upstream inflow, I started the day strong with a small bass using the Bigbrella Mini + Jighead setup.

However, because the water was so clear, the bass were extremely spooky and sensitive to the slightest noise or vibration. Interestingly, I witnessed many bass actually spotting and avoiding the braided line. When the fishing gets this tough and the water is clear, switching from braid to a clear fluorocarbon line is highly recommended.

As I moved downstream, the size improved, and I managed to land a solid 35cm bass via sight fishing. It was a fascinating day observing nature, seeing tiny fry along the banks, and spotting late-spawning bass.
