In this episode, we hit the unfamiliar waters of Lake Rhodhiss, North Carolina for some summertime bass fishing! I’ve only fished this lake a couple of times before — and never in the heat of summer — so we went in with low expectations and finesse tactics in hand.

With the sun beating down and the bass acting finicky, we stuck to light line and subtle presentations, targeting structure and shaded cover. The result? Seven largemouth bass, most on the smaller side, but one solid fish came in just under two pounds and gave us a glimpse of the lake’s true potential.

From adjusting our finesse techniques to reading the conditions and figuring out where the fish were holding, this trip was all about adapting on the fly.

🎣 Tactics used: finesse rigs, slow presentations, fishing shallow-to-mid-depth cover
📍 Location: Lake Rhodhiss, NC
☀️ Conditions: Summer heat, light wind, high pressure
